Release Notes for uKnowva - August 2024

This month we have worked upon enhancing existing modules to give our clients better User experience.

1. Import Adjustment Days in Extra Earnings/Deductions

  • This month, we've enhanced the "Extra Earnings/Deductions" menu under the HR Manager section by introducing the ability to import adjustment days for individual users for a specific month. This feature, developed in response to client requests, allows for more precise management of Payroll Adjustments, ensuring that all types of earnings, deductions, and now adjustments can be efficiently added or imported as needed.

2. Enhanced Usability with 'Save as Draft' Feature in Non CTC Reimbursement Form

  • This month, we have introduced a 'Save as Draft' functionality in the Non CTC Reimbursement Form, significantly enhancing user experience. This update allows users to save their progress and return to complete the form at their convenience, ensuring that no data is lost during the process. The new feature is particularly beneficial for forms that cannot be managed via drag-and-drop functionality, providing a more flexible and user-friendly interface.

3. Introduction of Deletion Provision for Goals and Ratings in PMS Module

  • In response to frequent client requests, we've enhanced our PMS module by introducing a new feature that allows KRA admins to directly delete employee goals and ratings. Previously managed through backend interventions, this update streamlines the process, granting admins greater control and efficiency within the PMS module.

4. Enhanced Reimbursement Capping Based on Employee Profile and Reimbursement Type

  • This month, we have introduced a new feature that allows organizations to set reimbursement limits based on employee grade, designation, career level, and reimbursement type (such as food, hotel, or transportation). This enhancement, driven by client demand, ensures that employees can only raise reimbursement requests within predefined caps, aligning with industry standards seen in large organizations. The system maintains a master record where these limits are stored and managed, based on employee profiles and the type of reimbursement, with flexible options to set caps on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly basis.

5.
Optimizing Data Storage for Custom Fields in Flat Tables

  • To enhance performance and efficiency in our HRMS, we've implemented a feature that allows custom field values, created through the profile field manager, to be stored in a flat table. Previously, these values were stored in a vertical table, leading to increased query writing and execution time. By transitioning to a flat table structure, we've significantly reduced query complexity and optimized execution speed. This update involves selecting the flat table during the creation of custom field categories, automatically generating additional columns as needed, and synchronizing the data via a cron job.

6. Enhanced Salary Change Alert Feature

  • This month, we have introduced an essential enhancement to our HRMS system: an alert feature that notifies HR when a user's salary is changed from the salary assignment page. This alert displays a confirmation box detailing the salary difference whenever modifications occur. This update addresses the issue of unnoticed salary changes, ensuring that HR personnel are promptly informed of any adjustments, thereby reducing the risk of errors and improving oversight in salary management.
