Introduction
Events play an important role in enhancing learning and engagement within the Learning Management System (LMS).
In uKnowva HRMS, the LMS module allows admins and trainers to add events such as offline training sessions, workshops, or special learning activities directly under the respective courses.
This ensures employees are not only accessing online content like videos, quizzes, or documents but also have opportunities to participate in structured offline or live training sessions.
By adding events, organisations can manage training schedules, assign trainers, set limits on participation, and ensure employees receive the right balance of online and offline learning opportunities.
In this guide, we will walk you through the detailed process of adding events in LMS within uKnowva HRMS.
Step 1: Accessing the LMS Course List
From the side navigation panel, go to the LMS menu and click on the Courses sub-menu. This action will open a new page where you can see a list of existing courses.
Each course is displayed under specific headers, including Course Name, Action, Status, Course Category, Course Trainer, and showing whether the course is accessible to all users or marked as mandatory.
This course list gives you a quick overview of the available courses so you can easily locate the one where you want to add the event.
Step 2: Selecting the Course and Opening Chapters
Once you are on the courses page, scroll through the list or use the search bar to quickly locate the desired course.
After identifying the correct course, look under the Action column and click on the book icon.
This icon allows you to view and manage chapters of that specific course. Upon clicking, a new page will open displaying the existing chapters associated with that course.
At the top of this page, you will find a button labelled “Add Chapter.” Click on this button to proceed with creating a new chapter where you can add your event.
Step 3: Choosing Content Type for the Event
After clicking on “Add Chapter,” a new page will appear.
Here, you need to define the content type for the chapter. uKnowva LMS provides multiple content type options such as Doc (pdf, ppt, doc), Editor, Video, Audio, Quiz, SCORM, Offline Training, and Workflow.
Since you are adding an event, you need to select the “Offline Training” option.
This ensures the event is treated as an offline training session and can be properly scheduled, tracked, and displayed in the LMS.
Step 4: Entering Event Details
Once the offline training option is selected, you will be prompted to fill in specific details related to the event.
Begin by entering the Chapter Name and selecting the Parent Chapter if the event belongs under an existing structure.
Then select the Trainer Type from the drop-down menu, where you can choose between internal or external trainers.
Enter the trainer’s name, followed by essential event details such as Location, Number of Seats, Start Time, End Time, and whether the event should be marked as an all-day activity by checking the All-day option.
You will also need to provide a short Summary to describe the event’s purpose and content.
These details help participants clearly understand what the event is about and allow you to manage registrations effectively.
Step 5: Saving and Viewing Events
After entering all required information, click on the Save button to create the event. If you do not want to proceed, you can cancel the action.
Once saved, the event will automatically be displayed on the Home page of your instance and for all those who are invited to the event. This makes it easier for users to discover upcoming training sessions and register accordingly.
It is important to note that if an event is marked as private, it will only be visible to invited employees and will not appear for those who are not invited.
This feature ensures that events can be customised for specific groups or teams within the organisation.
Conclusion
That’s it!
You’ve now successfully added an event in the LMS of uKnowva HRMS.
By following this process, you ensure that learning activities include both online and offline experiences, making the training program more holistic and engaging.
Adding events like offline training sessions helps you schedule trainers, manage attendees, and provide employees with meaningful opportunities to enhance their skills.
This system makes training more accessible, transparent, and structured for all users.
