Release Notes for uKnowva – October 2026

The October 2026 release of uKnowva HRMS introduces new capabilities for workforce tracking, internal career mobility, workflow automation, and employee recognition.

1. Introducing Live Location Tracking in Virtual Biometric

Field workforce attendance gets an additional layer of visibility with the introduction of Live Location Tracking in Virtual Biometric. Organizations can now view where employees are during their active punched-in hours, making it easier to keep track of field activities beyond attendance records.

The feature automatically captures employee locations at admin-configured intervals, starting from punch-in until punch-out. Admins can view location history with GPS coordinates and timestamps through a centralized tracking view. It supports desktop browsers, Android mobile browsers, iPhone mobile browsers, and the uKnowva Android application, including background tracking on Android, subject to device permissions.

Location records can also sync after connectivity is restored, where supported, ensuring temporary network interruptions do not necessarily leave gaps in captured records.

2. Introducing IJP: Making Internal Hiring More Accessible

Finding the next career opportunity no longer has to mean looking outside the organization. With Internal Job Posting (IJP), employees can now explore open positions and apply directly through their uKnowva profiles, making internal career moves more accessible.

The application process carries forward employees' basic details, skills, and profile information, while automatically tagging applications with the IJP source. Through the dedicated My Applications page, employees can track progress, filter applications, view details, download their CVs, or withdraw applications. CV submission is optional, even for HR-led application updates and offer generation.

This brings internal opportunities within easier reach and gives organizations a more direct way to identify and engage existing talent.

3. Introducing Workflow Hooks: Make Every Workflow Stage More Actionable

Workflows can now do much more than move requests from one approval stage to another. Workflow Hooks introduce the ability to trigger automatic actions at different points in a workflow, whether a request is submitted, approved, rejected, or cancelled. Admins can configure actions to run before or after each event, bringing more flexibility to how HR processes are executed.

From sending notifications and updating employee profiles to validating dates, checking pending requests, creating table records, processing bulk salary adjustments, and triggering automatic approvals, admins can choose from a range of built-in actions.

4. Introducing Kudos Corner: Celebrate Contributions, Recognise People

A little appreciation can go a long way in making employees feel valued. Kudos Corner brings recognition into everyday workplace interactions, allowing employees to appreciate colleagues with badges, points, personalized messages, and attachments.

Employees can appreciate individual colleagues or entire teams, making it easier to celebrate contributions, acknowledge support, and encourage peer-to-peer recognition. Organizations can configure badges, point values, eligibility rules, cooldown periods, and recognition permissions.

Alongside positive recognition through kudos, the module also supports private Memos through badges with negative point values. While kudos allow employees to appreciate colleagues for their contributions and achievements, memos provide authorized HR managers and designated groups a way to record negative feedback, highlight areas of concern, or address instances requiring improvement. These memos remain private and are visible only to permitted individuals, rather than appearing on the public feed or employee timeline.

Recognition can appear on the home feed and employee timelines, with in-app and email notifications. Kudos and memos can be reversed by the giver or an admin, with corresponding point adjustments recorded in the audit log.

5. Automatic Absconding Detection: Automate Prolonged Absence Management

Prolonged unexplained absences can now be handled with less manual intervention. Automatic Absconding Detection identifies employees with no attendance or leave activity for a configured number of consecutive days.

Based on predefined conditions, uKnowva can automatically initiate the resignation process and mark the employee as absconded, helping HR teams maintain more consistent employee records.
