Introduction
In every organization, managing employee work hours effectively is essential for ensuring productivity, discipline, and operational efficiency.
uKnowva HRMS simplifies this process by offering a flexible Shift Management module that allows HR managers to define and assign shifts tailored to their team’s needs.
Whether you operate in rotating shifts or fixed schedules, adding a new shift in the system is a straightforward process.
This guide will walk you through each step required to add a new shift using the Shift Master List.
Step 1: Open the Shift Master List
To begin adding a new shift, first navigate to the HR Manager section from the main menu on the left-hand side.
Within this section, click on the Shift Master List sub-menu.
This page displays all existing shifts configured in the system and gives you the option to create new ones as per your requirements.
Step 2: Initiate the Add Shift Process
Once you're on the Shift Master List page, look for the Add button located at the top of the screen.
Clicking this button will open a pop-up, allowing you to define the details of the shift you wish to add.
Step 3: Fill in Shift Details
In the pop-up that appears, start by entering the Title of the shift. Next, input the Start Time and End Time, which define the core working hours for that shift.
You also need to fill in the Late After and Early Before fields to specify when the system should start marking an employee late or early.
These fields help enforce time-based policies and ensure compliance with your organization's attendance guidelines.
Step 4: Save the New Shift
After you’ve entered all the necessary information, review the details once to ensure accuracy.
Then, click the Save button to add the shift to your Shift Master List.
If you change your mind or realize a mistake before saving, you can simply click the Cancel button to discard the entry and start over if needed.
Conclusion
That’s it!
You’ve now successfully added a new shift in uKnowva HRMS.
By following this process, you ensure that shift schedules are clearly defined and properly reflected in the system, allowing for smoother attendance tracking and workforce management.
This feature helps maintain discipline and provides greater visibility into employee work patterns.
