Introduction
In goal-setting frameworks like OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), breaking down broader objectives into smaller, manageable sub-goals is key to achieving long-term success.
uKnowva HRMS simplifies this process by allowing users to create sub-goals under both goals and existing sub-goals within the My OKR/Goal page.
This feature helps teams and individuals align efforts more precisely and track performance at multiple levels of granularity.
Whether you are contributing to a larger departmental goal or need to manage project-specific tasks, adding sub-goals ensures you stay on track.
Follow the steps below to begin creating your sub-goal.
Step 1: Navigating to the OKR List
Before proceeding, make sure you know how to access the My OKR/Goal page. If not, please refer to the detailed tutorial by clicking here.
Once you are on this page, you will see a structured list of OKRs under headers such as Goal/Sub Goal, Weightage, Action, Assigned To, Progress, Status, Time Interval, and Due Date.
Step 2: Initiating the Sub-Goal Creation Process
To create a sub-goal under any existing goal or sub-goal, locate that entry in the list and move to the Action column.
Here, you will find a + icon next. Click this icon to begin the sub-goal creation process.
A pop-up will appear, prompting you to enter all the necessary details for the new sub-goal.
Step 3: Filling Out the Sub-Goal Details
In the pop-up, you need to fill out the essential information required to define your sub-goal clearly.
Start by entering the Sub Goal Name, and then select the appropriate Time Interval that defines its duration.
Choose the Measurement Type and update the Progress status. Next, assign the sub-goal to the appropriate team member using the Assigned To field.
You also need to define the Parent Goal or Sub Goal under which this new objective falls.
Continue by entering the Weightage, Start Value, and Target Value for the sub-goal to quantify expectations. Lastly, set a specific Due Date to track completion effectively.
Step 4: Saving the Sub-Goal
Once you have filled in all the required fields and reviewed your information, click on the Save button at the bottom of the form to finalize the sub-goal.
If you decide not to proceed, you can click the Cancel button to discard the changes without saving them.
Conclusion
That’s it!
You’ve now successfully created a sub-goal under an existing goal or sub-goal in uKnowva HRMS.
By following this process, you enable a more structured and actionable approach to tracking progress across layers of objectives.
This method improves focus, accountability, and overall productivity, allowing teams and individuals to work in sync with broader organizational goals.
