Introduction
Setting up clear and measurable objectives is critical for driving individual and organizational performance.
In uKnowva HRMS, the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) module allows you to break down large goals into smaller, actionable sub-goals.
This ensures that complex tasks are easier to manage, track, and evaluate. Sub-goals help provide more detailed clarity on each team member’s contribution to larger objectives and enhance accountability across departments.
Step 1: Navigate to the OKR Page and Locate the Goal
Before you begin, make sure the OKR extension is installed in your system. If not, you can download it from the uKnowva Extension Store.
If you’re unsure how to navigate to the OKR page, please visit our detailed tutorial by clicking here.
Once you are on the OKR/Goals page, you will see your goals displayed in a tabular format under headers such as Goal/Sub Goal, Weightage, Action, Assigned To, Progress, Status, Time Interval, and Due Date.
Locate the main goal or parent sub-goal under which you want to create a new sub-goal. You can either scroll through the list or use the search function at the top of the page to find it quickly.
Step 2: Add a Sub-Goal Under the Parent Goal
After identifying the parent goal or sub-goal, look under the Action column for the corresponding row.
You will find a small + icon, which allows you to add a sub-goal.
Click on this icon, and a pop-up window will appear, enabling you to enter the relevant information for the new sub-goal.
uKnowva HRMS allows you to add a sub-goal either under an existing goal or even under another sub-goal, depending on your reporting structure or task hierarchy.
Step 3: Enter Sub-Goal Details in the Pop-Up Form
Inside the pop-up window, you will be required to fill in the essential fields that define your new sub-goal.
Start by entering the name of the sub-goal and selecting the appropriate Time Interval during which it should be achieved.
Then, set the Measurement Type—which determines how the sub-goal’s progress will be quantified—and input the Progress percentage if applicable.
You must also define the Status of the sub-goal, such as Not Started, In Progress, or Completed.
Next, assign the sub-goal to the relevant team member by selecting their name in the Assigned To field.
The Parent Goal/Sub Goal field will be automatically selected based on where you clicked the + icon. Now, set the Weightage for the sub-goal in proportion to the main objective.
Lastly, provide values for Start Value, Target Value, and select a Due Date by which the sub-goal should be completed.
Once you’ve filled in all the required fields, click on the Save button at the bottom of the form to add the sub-goal to the system.
If you want to clear the form and start again, use the Reset button.
Conclusion
That’s it!
You’ve now successfully added a sub-goal in the OKR module in uKnowva HRMS.
By following this process, you ensure that goals are broken down into manageable tasks, assigned to the right individuals, and tracked effectively.
This system supports a transparent and structured approach to performance management, allowing teams to stay aligned and accountable.
