Introduction

Managing employee resignations effectively is crucial for maintaining a smooth offboarding process in any organization.

In uKnowva HRMS, administrators have the flexibility to decide whether employees can choose to serve or skip their notice period.

This setting ensures that HR policies regarding notice periods are implemented uniformly across the organization.

By configuring this option, administrators can either grant employees the ability to request an early release or enforce the mandatory completion of their notice period.

This article explains how to enable or disable this option within the system.

Step 1: Accessing the Configuration Settings

To modify the notice period selection setting, log in as an administrator and click on your profile photo in the top-right corner of the page.

A list will appear with multiple options.

Select uKnowva Configuration to access the system settings.

Once inside, navigate to the left-side menu and click on Apps Manager.

This section allows you to manage different applications and their configurations within uKnowva HRMS.

Step 2: Modifying the Notice Period Selection Setting

Inside the Apps Manager, you can either manually scroll through the list to locate the PFT Custom App or use the search bar to find it quickly.

Clicking on this app will open a configuration pop-up containing various options.

Look for the setting labeled Allow Employees to Select If They Wish to Serve Notice Period or Not.

This option determines whether employees can choose to waive their notice period while submitting their resignation.

Select Yes to allow employees to make this choice or No to enforce the mandatory serving of the notice period.

After selecting the appropriate option, click on the Save button to apply the changes. If you wish to discard any modifications, click on Cancel instead.

Step 3: Verifying the Changes in the Resignation Form

Once the configuration is updated, navigate to the Resignation menu from the side navigation panel and click on My Resignation to review the changes.

The resignation interface will display a checkbox labeled I Do Not Wish to Serve the Notice Period when employees apply for resignation.

If this option is enabled, employees can check the box and provide additional details, such as their requested last working day and the reason for not serving the notice period.

If the option is disabled, employees will not have the ability to waive their notice period, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Conclusion

That’s it!

You’ve now successfully configured the notice period selection setting in uKnowva HRMS.

By following this process, you can control whether employees have the flexibility to waive their notice period or if they must serve the full duration.

This feature helps HR teams enforce policies consistently while providing employees with a clear resignation process.
