Introduction

Performance management is a crucial process for every organisation, and having the right system in place ensures that employees are evaluated fairly, accurately, and on time.

One of the most effective methods of performance evaluation is the 360-degree PMS review.

This approach not only streamlines the performance appraisal process but also ensures that the feedback is holistic and multidimensional.

With uKnowva HRMS, enabling the 360-degree PMS review module is straightforward and can bring significant value to your appraisal cycles.

The 360-degree PMS review is designed to solve one of the biggest challenges faced in performance management: delays caused by waiting for employee self-ratings before managers can begin their evaluations.

Instead, this module allows both the employee and the reporting manager to rate in parallel.

The result is a more efficient and transparent system that captures both perspectives while also accommodating inputs from multiple stakeholders such as peers or subordinates.

This comprehensive approach saves time, enhances the quality of reviews, and promotes a culture of continuous feedback across the organisation.

What is a 360-Degree PMS Review Module?

The 360-degree PMS review module in uKnowva HRMS ensures that performance evaluations are not just one-sided but rather inclusive of different viewpoints.

Traditionally, managers had to wait for employees to complete their self-ratings before starting their review process, often leading to delays.

The 360-degree review eliminates this bottleneck by allowing managers to proceed with their evaluations while employees are still completing theirs.

This parallel review system results in more timely appraisals while providing a more accurate picture of employee performance.

It reflects not only the employee’s self-perception but also the insights of the manager and other stakeholders.

By encouraging multiple feedback sources, the module brings balance, fairness, and greater detail into the evaluation process, making it an essential tool for large organisations.

Why Do You Need It?

In fast-paced organisations, reporting managers juggle multiple responsibilities, which often delays performance reviews.

A bottleneck occurs when managers must wait for an employee’s self-assessment to be completed before they can proceed.

This not only slows down the process but also reduces efficiency in performance cycles.

By enabling the 360-degree PMS review module in uKnowva HRMS, these challenges are resolved.

Managers can start their evaluations without delay, feedback becomes more comprehensive, and employees gain insights from multiple perspectives.

This leads to more transparent, well-rounded reviews that benefit both individual employees and the organisation as a whole.

Ultimately, it creates an environment of accountability, timely recognition, and continuous development.

Step 1: Enabling the 360-Degree PMS Review Setting

To begin, you must first activate the 360-degree PMS review from the configuration settings.

Go to the top-right corner of your screen and click on your profile icon.

From the list of options that appears, select uKnowva Configuration.

Once you are on the configuration page, look at the left-hand side menus and click on Apps Manager.

Inside the Apps Manager, locate KRA and Appraisal Ratings. You can either scroll to find it or use the search bar for quicker access.

After clicking on it, a pop-up window will open.

Scroll through the options until you find Enable 360 Appraisals. Toggle this option to Yes to activate the feature.

This step officially enables the 360-degree review process within your organisation’s HRMS.

Step 2: Allowing Multiple Approvers

Once you have enabled the 360-degree appraisal option, the next step is to allow multiple reviewers.

Still within the same KRA and Appraisal Ratings settings, find the option called Enable Multiple Approvers and switch it to Yes.

This step is essential as it allows different people, such as peers, subordinates, or cross-functional team members, to participate in the appraisal process.

By doing this, the review becomes more balanced and offers insights from different perspectives, resulting in a richer evaluation of an employee’s performance.

Step 3: Setting the Appraiser Profile Field

The next important configuration is selecting the appraiser field correctly. Within the KRA and Appraisal Ratings pop-up, find the option Select Appraiser Profile Field and set it to PMS Appraiser.

This ensures that the system can recognise and handle multiple approvers linked to an employee’s profile.

Without setting this field, the system would not be able to track who the additional reviewers are.

Once done with the configuration, click on the save button present at the bottom of the pop-up window to save the changes.

Step 4: Assigning Multiple Approvers to Employees

Once the system settings are configured, you can move on to assigning multiple reviewers for a specific employee.

Use the search bar to quickly locate the employee’s profile and click on Edit Profile.

Within the profile, scroll to the Employment Information section.

Here, you will find a field called PMS Reviewer.

Add all the approvers who should participate in that employee’s 360-degree review process.

This may include the reporting manager, peers, or other relevant stakeholders. Once saved, all selected reviewers will be able to give their inputs during the performance appraisal.

Conclusion

That’s it!

You’ve now successfully enabled the 360-degree PMS Review in uKnowva HRMS and assigned multiple approvers for an employee’s evaluation.

By following this process, you ensure that performance reviews are completed in a timely and transparent manner while capturing diverse perspectives from different stakeholders.

This system simplifies the appraisal process, enhances fairness, and provides employees with well-rounded feedback that supports their growth and development.
