Introduction
Key Result Areas (KRAs) are a critical part of performance management as they define the measurable outcomes employees are expected to achieve.
Setting KRAs for your team ensures clarity, transparency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
In uKnowva HRMS, managers have the ability to create and assign KRAs to their team members directly through the performance module.
This process makes it easy to establish clear expectations, track progress, and evaluate employee performance fairly.
By using structured templates and weightage-based evaluation, uKnowva HRMS helps managers create a balanced and transparent framework for assessing both KRAs and competencies of their team members.
Step 1: Access the KRA Setup Page
To begin, go to the side navigation panel and click on the My Performance menu. From there, select the Set KRA for My Team sub-menu.
A new page will open, displaying a list of your team members under specific headers. This page acts as your central hub for assigning and managing KRAs for multiple employees.
Step 2: Select Team Members and Open KRA Form
Next, look at the left side of each team member’s name, where you will find checkboxes.
By clicking on these boxes, you can select one or multiple employees for whom you want to set KRAs.
Once selected, click on the Set KRA button present above the list.
This action will open a new page where you can begin configuring KRAs using the available template.
From the drop-down menu, select the respective template.
The system automatically fills in KRAs and competencies from the chosen template, but you can review and edit them as required to suit your team’s needs.
Step 3: Define and Review KRAs
On this page, start by reviewing the details under the KRA section. Each KRA entry includes a Title, Type, Reasoning, and Weightage (%).
You can customize these fields based on the role and expectations of the selected team members.
To add more KRAs, click on the + icon present at the end of a row, and to delete any unnecessary KRA, click on the bin icon.
It is important to ensure that the total weightage for KRAs adds up to 100%. This ensures accurate and fair evaluation during the performance cycle.
Step 4: Define and Review Competencies
After finalizing KRAs, move on to the competencies section. Similar to KRAs, each competency entry will also have a Title, Type, Reasoning, and Weightage (%).
You can edit these details to align competencies with your organization’s performance standards.
Additional rows can be inserted using the + icon, or removed using the bin icon. Just like KRAs, the total weightage for competencies must equal 100%.
This dual balance ensures that both measurable results (KRAs) and behavioral skills (competencies) are given equal importance in performance evaluation.
Step 5: Save and Submit KRAs
Once you have completed filling in the required details, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find four action buttons: Cancel, Save as Draft, Clear Draft, and Submit.
If you are still working on the KRA setup and want to revisit later, you can save it as a draft. If you want to start over, you can clear the draft.
When you are fully satisfied with the entries, click on the Submit button.
Once submitted, the system records the KRAs, and your team members will receive a notification based on the configuration set in uKnowva HRMS.
Conclusion
That’s it!
You’ve now successfully set the KRAs for your team members in uKnowva HRMS.
By following this process, you ensure that both KRAs and competencies are assigned systematically, with proper weightage and reasoning, making the evaluation process transparent and fair.
This structured approach not only clarifies expectations but also motivates employees to achieve their goals while contributing to overall organizational success.
