With support for multiple question types, flexible configurations, and import options, uKnowva’s LMS ensures a seamless and effective quiz management experience.
This article will walk you through the detailed process of creating, managing, and assigning questions in the Quiz Dashboard.
Step 1: Accessing the Question Bank
To begin, navigate to the side navigation panel and click on the LMS menu. From the list of sub-menus, select the Quiz Dashboard option.

Once you are on the Quiz Dashboard page, click on the Question Bank option located at the top of the page.

This will open a new page displaying a list of all existing questions along with columns such as Question, Category, and Question Type.

The Question Bank acts as a centralized repository where you can view, create, and manage all your quiz questions in one place.
Step 2: Adding a New Question
If you wish to create a new question, click on the Add Question button located above the question list.

A pop-up window will appear, asking you to select the type of question you want to create.

uKnowva HRMS supports a variety of question types, including Single Question, Correlation Question, Drag’n’Drop Correlation Question, Essay Question, Free Text Question, HotSpot Question, Multiple Question, and Multiple Summing Question.

Choose the desired type that suits your assessment needs and click on the Continue button to proceed.
Step 3: Entering Question Details
Once you’ve selected your question type, a new interface will open where you can enter all the relevant details for the question.

Begin by filling in key fields such as Category, Question Type, Only Correct Answers, Attempt Count, Score, and Penalty.

In the Question field, type the question you want to ask using the text editor provided. This editor allows you to format text, insert media, and add clarity to your question.

Below the question field, you’ll find an Explanation box. Here, you can enter an explanation for the question, which helps learners understand the correct answer once they’ve completed the quiz.

This promotes learning through feedback and ensures a better understanding of the concepts being assessed.
uKnowva HRMS also gives you control over how your question behaves during a quiz.
You can enable the Random Order setting to shuffle the answer options, preventing learners from memorizing patterns.
Additionally, you can choose how the options will appear by selecting a View Type — either Radio Button or Drop-Down List.

Step 4: Adding and Configuring Answer Options
Once the question content and settings are complete, scroll down to the Answer section.

Here, you can add answer options for your question. Click on the plus (+) icon above the table to add a new answer.

You can enter multiple options depending on the question type.
To mark an answer as correct, simply click on the radio button under the Correct column.
This setup allows you to configure both objective and descriptive types of questions effectively.

When you’re done entering all question details and answers, click on Save & Close to finalize the question or Save to continue editing.
The newly created question will now appear in your Question Bank list and can be used in any quiz you create.
Step 5: Importing Questions in Bulk
In addition to adding questions manually, uKnowva HRMS allows you to import questions in bulk, which is ideal when you need to upload a large set of questions quickly.
To do this, prepare a CSV file containing your questions in the required format. Once ready, click on the CSV Import button located above the question list in the Question bank page.

A pop-up window will appear, where you can upload your file and click Import to add all the questions at once.
Alternatively, if you already have a directory of question files in the instance, you can use the Import from Directory option.
Provide the directory path, click Import, and all questions within that directory will be automatically added to your Question Bank.

This makes quiz creation faster, especially for large-scale training programs or recurring assessments.
Step 6: Assigning Questions to a Quiz
Once your question is saved in the Question Bank, you can easily assign it to a quiz.
To do this, return to the Quizzes page and locate the quiz where you want to add questions.
Find your quiz in the list and click on the Book icon under the Action column.

This will open the list of questions that are already assigned to that quiz.
Above the list, click on the From Bank option.

A pop-up window will appear showing a list of all available questions from your Question Bank, along with columns like Question, Question Type, and Category.

To import questions into your quiz, select the checkbox next to the question IDs you wish to include and click on the Import button.

The selected questions will be instantly added to your quiz.
This feature helps you reuse existing questions across multiple quizzes without re-entering them each time, saving both effort and time.
