Introduction
uKnowva HRMS allows you to translate custom content so that users can view specific values in their preferred language. The Content Translator feature is useful when you need to translate individual pieces of content that may not be covered through the standard Translator Master configuration.
In this article, we will learn how to access the Content Translator, create new content translations, import and export translation data, edit existing translations, and delete translations when they are no longer required.
Step 1: Open Content Translator
To begin, go to the top-right corner of the page. Click on your profile photo to open the list of available options.
From the list, select Content Translator.

This will open the Content Translator page, where you can view and manage the content translations available in your system.
The page displays a table with columns such as Language ID, Action, Original Value, Value, and Published.
These fields help you identify the language associated with each translation and manage the original and translated values.

Step 2: Add a New Content Translation
To create a new content translation, click on the Add button available above the translation list.

A pop-up will open where you can enter the details for the new translation.
Start by selecting the required Language ID. Select the ID that corresponds to the language configured in your uKnowva HRMS instance.

Next, enter the original text that you want to translate in the Original Value field.

In the Value field, enter the translated version of that content.
You can then use the Published toggle to control whether the translation should be active. Set it to Yes if you want the translation to be available in the system. If you do not want to make it active yet, keep it set to No.

Once you have entered all the required information, click the Save button to create the translation.
Step 3: Import Content Translations
If you have a large number of translations, you can import them instead of adding each translation manually.
To import translation data, click the Import button above the translation table.

An import pop-up will appear. From here, click Download CSV Import Template File to download the template provided by the system.
Prepare your translation data according to the downloaded template and save the completed file.

Return to the import window, click Browse, and select the prepared file from your system. Then click Upload File to upload the translations.

This allows you to add multiple content translations together instead of creating each record individually.
Step 4: Export Content Translations
You can also export the existing content translations whenever you need to review, maintain, or work with the translation data outside uKnowva HRMS.
To export the translation list, click the Export button available above the table.

The system will download the available translation data, which you can use for reference or further processing.
Step 5: Edit an Existing Translation
To modify a translation that you have already created, first locate the required record using the search bar.
You can search using either the Original Value or the translated Value. Enter the relevant text and click the Search button to filter the list.
Once you locate the required translation, click the Edit button available under the Action column.

The translation details will open in a pop-up. Make the required changes to the original value, translated value, language, or publication status as needed.

After making the changes, click Save to update the translation.
Step 6: Delete a Content Translation
If you no longer need a translation, you can delete it from the Content Translator page.
First, locate the required translation in the list and click the Bin icon available under the Action column.

A confirmation alert will appear. Review the action and click OK to confirm the deletion.

If you want to delete multiple translations together, select the required records using the checkbox available on the left side of each row.
After selecting the required translations, click the Bin icon available above the table.

A confirmation alert will appear. Click OK to confirm and delete the selected translations.

Step 7: Enable Custom Language for Content Translations
Content translations created through the Content Translator depend on the Enable Custom Language setting configured in the uKnowva Translator plugin.
If you have not enabled this setting, the content translations created here will not be applied as expected.
To use these translations, make sure Enable Custom Language is set to Yes in the uKnowva Translator plugin configuration.

This allows uKnowva HRMS to apply the custom content translations configured through Content Translator.
Conclusion
That’s it!
You’ve now successfully learned how to use the Content Translator in uKnowva HRMS.
By configuring Enable Custom Language, you can ensure that the content translations created in Content Translator are applied correctly across the system, helping provide a more language-friendly HRMS experience.
