The people tab is the second part of uKnowva’s social intranet. It contains options related to the members of the network. The various options in People are explained below.
View All Members
Under People, when you click “View All” a list of all the members of the network is displayed. This is what the list looks like.
Here, you can view the details of users such as their Name, the number of colleagues they have, whether they are your colleague (add them as a colleague, if not), and send them a message.
View Your Colleagues
Using this option you can view all your colleagues.
This list also displays information about the colleague, similar to the View All list. Only difference is that instead of the Add Colleague option, the user has a “Remove Colleague” option.
Searching for Members
Searching for members on the network is very easy with the “Advanced Search” option. This is what it looks like:
The drop down menus for the parameters contain different options for the details the users might have entered, like their name, education, hobbies, city, etc. You can search for users that have the exact phrase in their profile or not having that phrase in their profile. For example, if you want to find a member interested in reading books and living in Thane, you would use the following parameters to search:
Viewing Requests Sent and Received
The other 2 options in the People tab allow the user to view the colleague requests that he has sent to other users and the colleague requests that he has received from other users. These options are “Request Sent and “Pending My Approval,” respectively.
The Request Sent page looks like this:
The user can cancel the colleague request by clicking the “Remove” button.
Similarly, the Pending Requests page also displays the requests the user has received. The user has options to either accept or reject the request received.
